What do we think about on a weekly basis? Wellllll... it changes each every week, so that keeps it interesting, even worth a weekly blog post to me.
This will just be a summary of what we're thinking about each week. I'll keep it consistent with the 3 categories Kitchen, Financial, and Marketing. Kitchen will be the widest ranging category because it'll encompass our on-site set up decisions as well.
I love the idea that, in the future, I'll be able to see a years worth of thoughts. It'll illustrate, in detail, how the business has grown, and if anything big happens, it'll show the little things that lead up to that.
This is the first "What are We Thinking About?" blog post, don't be fooled by Week 14. That's the week of our financial calendar. The second post will be Week 15 and so it goes.
Kitchen

How do we add sides?
We are expanding the menu! Exciting but it brings with it some complexities. Some of the questions we're trying to answer:
- If one side is $4 how should we price it if someone orders 2 taquitos and a side? We want to increase our margins, as I went over in this previous post, but we want to be fair to the customer. Quite the dilemma.
- What sides do most people want? Is it chips and guac? Chips and salsa? Beans? Rice? Rice and beans?
What 🍳 breakfast 🌯 taquitos should we make? Why?
Our first private event serving breakfast taquitos is coming up. The flavors that we are leaning toward are 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
- Bacon, Egg, & Cheese - A classic, not much of a decision to be made here, ya just have to have bacon egg and cheese. Probably will make the most of these.
- Sausage, Egg, & Spicy Crema - A bit of a twist on a traditional breakfast flavor combo. We love the spicy crema that we make, so we thought we might as well add it into one. We're just hoping enough people are alright with the spice.
- Home Fries & Black Beans - Always need a vegetarian option, and we thought it'd be good to offer something without eggs as well.
Financial

What to do with 💸 cashflows?
This will be an ongoing so each week or every other week I should provide a little update. Anyway, going into the spring summer and fall we are expecting some consistent cash flows. So, we want to be productive with them...obviously.
As of now it's just the two of us and we're not taking a salary yet, so we have nobody to pay. Here's what we have on our radar so far.
- More Merch: probably going to do this. More on this below)
- Guerrilla Marketing: need to come up with a campaign first!
- Tent/Catering Improvements: We need to look good for the private events!
Marketing

🧢 Hats?
We need some new merch. We're going to be going around to many more festivals this year so we'll have a lot of exposure. We want something that we can display at the register than anyone would buy and, more importantly, wear.
So, we're thinking hats. This is the design we're thinking about 👇🏻
