🤨 Can you Guess the Event Type?

🍺 Breweries

This is the most common event that we do by far. You can usually find us at a brewery once or twice every week.

We enjoy the brewery atmosphere. The staffs are usually filled with great people. Customers are laid back and in a good mood. We often get friends out to visit us to, which always brings the good vibes. Lastly, we both are big craft beer fans so the free beer is a nice perk!

On the business side of things, breweries get the job done. They're usually consistent during meal times. Crowds do vary wildly based on the brewery, day of the week, and weather. Sometimes we can sell food nonstop, other days we're standing around. Predicting the amount of people is very tough for us at breweries, but that's part of the job. Because of this, selling out or having a lot of waste happens too often. We very much prefer the former to the latter.

🎉 Festivals

A fast paced environment. Festivals usually have us serving food non-stop. We try to simplify the menu so we can get food out as fast as possible. There are long lines everywhere, and people are looking to chow down ASAP. The mass production aspect of it gets a little tiresome, as there's less creativity involved, but the benefit is the profitability.

The work is hard, but necessary for our business. We need some of those massive sales days to produce meaningful profit. After a day or night at a festival we're usually pretty exhausted. Ya just feel like your brain needs a breath haha.

Many festivals the amount of people we serve is the max amount of transactions we can make during the time we're there (~45-50 per hour). Although, if there's extreme weather, then predicting the amount of tickets becomes a nightmare. We will tirelessly debate whether people will show up despite the weather. We've had it go both ways, so it's never an easy answer.

✏️ School Lunch

We know a lot of teachers, so we got into this right when we started this business. It's nice to give all the teachers a break from the kids. They come out and grab some lunch, a nice change from their usual day.

For us we get preorders in a Google Doc. This helps us to cut down on waste. The teacher's also give us their lunch time so we know when to have it read, so one person can manage this. Since we're not serving a ton of people these aren't huge sales days for us. But, they're profitable since we know exactly how much food to prepare and they're a weekday lunch event which are few and far between.

✂️ Corporate Events

We haven't done too many of these, but we're scheduling some more for this year. They're an event we're looking to do more of! Corporate events are great because either they're prepaid or we know close to the number of people we will be serving. This means less waste and higher profits.

We've done some that the business pays for and some where employees pay for their own. We prefer the prepaid (obviously) but both are solid.

Corporate events require quick service, as there is usually a large crowd in a condensed window of 2hrs or less. We don't mind this though as we get in and get out. Not to mention, a majority of the time, these events are during the day on weekdays. Having highly profitable week days is great for business.

We have a variety of packages for companies to choose from so, if your reading this, and want us at your business, just email us (tuckedito@gmail.com)!

🎈 Parties

Our favorite events! Who doesn't like to be a part of the party. Catering parties provides a unique experience for us. We have the ability to get creative with our set up and offerings. They can be a little stressful, as we want to have everything perfect for the client. But overall, we enjoy the experience of working with the hosts to bring the good vibes🤙🏻

The service style is different than any other event as we don't have to take transactions. Believe it or not transactions are a pain to manage as we have to have one person devoted to that, rather than thinking about the way we present the food.

🥳 Parties are our #1! If you're interested in us catering your party, here's what we can offer 👇🏻

💸 📈Comparing Stats

Three simple charts that illustrate how these five event types make up our business. These are all representative of our first full year in business.

Breweries were our most common event by far in our first year in business. We served 111 times at a brewery in 2022.

Comparing the "Customers Served" chart to the "Events Served Breakdown", you'll realize many more customers are served at festivals than breweries. We served at 111 breweries and 31 festivals, yet we've served ~5200 and ~3900 customers at each, respectively.

In year 2 we're hoping to increase the percentage of Private Events/Parties. The guaranteed money is much better for business.

Private events and festivals lead the pack. Private events tend to be more profitable as we make more money, serving less people. They do require a bit more skill and stress though.
